Each month the Quality Committee reviews a number of Peer Review issues from each of our 5 sites. The focus of this process is education and improvement, not citing individuals as in the old days. Along those lines we have established an ever-expanding library of “Precedents”. Once an issue has been discussed once, we find that the best way to achieve consistency around the system is to use that discussion as a precedent so that all physicians and NPP’s (PA’s and NP’s) are always evaluated exactly the same way whenever the issue arises again. This bespeaks the principles of fairness and equity with the process that we feel very strongly about.
Take a look at the list. Feel free to make suggestions or observations about items on the list or others you feel should be added.
